My concept work more often lies within the boundaries of science fiction and fantasy, allowing for me to take a very open and creative approach to designs and concepts. I enjoy the challenge of thinking up new and interesting ideas, which look exciting, but at the same time embody sound design.
I work with both digital and traditional methods, as this allows for variety in the work I produce. I'll often work digitally for environmental pieces and developing a character's look, such as their costume design. When working with traditional media I'll use a black fine liner pen and pencil for my initial sketches and rough thumbnail drawings. For more finished concepts I'll use a fine liner pen combined with marker pens of various tones of warm grey. These materials allow for quick visualisation and development of ideas.
I'm currently working on a short film by James Roberts, called 'Mind The Gap', where I have been completing concept and storyboard images.
